Er ist 2024 First Team All Star Wide Receiver. Der European League of Football All-Time Receiving Yards Leader. Der Franchise Rekordhalter mit einer +1000 Receiving Yards Saison. Und nun ist es offiziell, dass US-Star Receiver Reece Horn auch 2025 für das Wiener Franchise spielen wird.
Das Monster-Signing ist perfekt: Der US-amerikanische Wideout Reece Horn unterschreibt für die 2025 ELF-Saison bei den Vienna Vikings und bleibt ein weiteres Jahr in Wien. Über die rasche und erfolgreiche Verhandlung seiner Vertrags-Verlängerung zeigt sich auch der 31jährige Profi-Footballer aus Indianapolis, der bereist in der NFL, XFL und CFL tätig war, höchst erfreut: "I cannot thank the city of Vienna and the entire Vikings organization enough for this opportunity. I am super excited to be back in Vienna in 2025 and pick up where I left off - as a collective, as a team but also as an individual. My goals and aspirations are as always being the best player and person I can be - both on and off the field. I don't care what anybody says, the Vikings are the best team in Europe from the top down. We will put a great product on the field in 2025." Mit dieser positiven und motivierten Ansage macht Horn den Football Fans bereits die nächste Saison mehr als schmackhaft.

Das Signing von Reece Horn ist auch ganz nach dem Geschmack von Head Coach Chris Calaycay. Für den Vikings Meistertrainer von 2022, der sich in diesem Jahr erstmals über die ELF Coach Of The Year Auszeichnung freuen durfte, war Horn ein Wunschspieler für den Mannschafts-Roster. Nach der Verletzung von Weston Carr wurde Horn in Week 2 nach Wien geholt, avancierte blitzschnell zu einem der Publikumslieblinge, produzierte fast verrückt anmutende Statistiken auf dem Feld: Er beendete die Saison nach 13 Spielen mit 88 Receptions und 1397 Receiving Yards (Franchise Record). Die Vikings #17 machte 17 Touchdowns und sorgte für Jubel im Purple Reign.
Horns Qualität betont auch HC Calaycay: "Reece is just one of those players who produces week in and week out. He knows this team and the community here in Vienna.
